Donate your used clothes and furnitutre through our Donations Pick Up Program
Donations of previously used clothing, furniture and other items are instrumental in the support of our Adult Rehabilitation Centers. Items in reusable condition are sold at our thrift/family stores, and the proceeds are used to fund programs which assist in the rehabilitation of men and women suffering from substance abuse and addiction.
In addition, donors are eligible to receive tax deductions for their donation of clothing, furniture and shoes.
Although donations may be dropped off at any Salvation Army location, pick-ups may be arranged by calling 1-800-SATRUCK.
Individuals who wish to donate used vehicles should fill out our Car Donation Form.
Items not accepted for donations include: broken or badly worn furniture, bed springs, venetian blinds, plumbing or lighting fixtures, beauty or barbershop equipment, large office machines, medical equipment, medicine cabinets, sinks, bathroom fixtures, gas appliances, king or queen size box springs without mattresses, wall-to-wall carpeting, carpet padding material, foam rubber mattresses, metal beds or desks, unsealed open food containers, water beds, swing sets and platform beds.
So your clothing might not go directly to a poor person, but The Salvation Army is using the money they raise from your donations for a good cause. The Salvation Army Thrift stores, for instance, are each considered individual nonprofits, and each store's proceeds go to fund our Adult Rehabilitation Centers.
Donations of clothing and cars are a primary source of income for The Salvation Army adult rehabilitation centers. The more we can collect and resell, the more funding is available to serve those struggling with adictions.
The Salvation Army has clothing donation bins hosted by local businesses and easily accessible at central locations. Help us keep our costs down and host properties clean; please don’t leave items around the bin. If you have something that does not fit, please visit a donation station or call us at Call 1-800-SA-TRUCK (1-800-728-7825).
Keep an eye out for The Salvation Army shoes and clothing bins in your neighborhood. If you don’t see one, call us and we’ll give you the location of the bin that is closest to you.
There have been some changes to the local drop-off locations for Clothes. To find your nearest drop off clothes donation box simply visit our thrift stores page.
